What do you do when your inspiration for a creative project runs dry? When it seems that you cannot make any progress on it at all? What causes this dearth, and how can it be overcome? As a writer and artist, I have often wrestled with these questions.
A quick progress update!
Greetings, friends! In last week’s blog post, I mentioned that I had written a contemporary fiction short story based on a dream I had. Well, after reading it over again, I am still quite happy with how it turned out. I thought I might as well share it with you all. The story isn’t perfect,Continue reading “The Bluebird Box (Contemporary Short Story)”
There are a lot of questions I ask myself every day. What am I going to eat for breakfast? (Usually cereal or yogurt with berries.) What should I do today? (Definitely something productive, right? That’s always the hope.) Why is my cat meowing for someone to pet him again? (He’s just a crybaby, I suppose.)Continue reading “When Am I Going to Publish My Book? (Project Update)”

After a perilous encounter with a dragon, the Author used her magical Storysword to locate the main character of her novel. It isn’t every day that an author gets to meet her own characters. What could go wrong?

Since most of the sonnets I read contained the theme of love, I decided to do something a little different and write one about joy. The concept of joy has always fascinated me, for it is very different than happiness. Instead of beingContinue reading “Of Joy and Happiness – A Sonnet”
The Arbitrary Fairy’s newest invention, the Storywell, allows her to jump into any story world she desires. She, of course, chooses to test it out on her book world. This humorous exchange between an Author and a Reader satirizes some of the quirks of each.
What do you think of when you hear the word sacrifice? In this post I give a few thoughts and share a poem I wrote for Holy Week.
